So Much Crazy and Can’t Say Anything

This last month has been a whirlwind of activity for our family. Unfortunately, I can’t talk about any of it until next week. So, this week I’m talking about having to keep secrets that you are dying to tell someone else about.

pexels-photo-315918.png I know that at some point in your life you’ve been told something by a friend, family member, colleague, etc. and they asked you not to tell anyone else. For me this is hard, but over the last month I’ve had to keep a secret. IT IS KILLING ME!

I will admit I have told a few select people who were okayed by the person who told me the secret, but it has been hard not tell shout it from the rooftops because it is not only exciting, but life changing.

So here are a few tips on how to keep a secret:

  1. Don’t tell anyone.  I know this sound childish, but the easy way not to let it slip is to just not tell anyone. There are many ways to do this and they include: gluing your lips shut, locking yourself in a windowless. doorless room until the secret can come out, not speaking to anyone to the point that people think you’re rude, and moving to a isolated island that is uninhabited.
  2. Write it down on paper and lock it in a box. By doing this you can clear it out of your mind and know it is safe somewhere. (This would not work for me, but it might for someone else.)
  3. Refuse to talk to anyone. This is a little harsh, but it is a technique that might work. There are some downsides to this. People might think you’re rude (as I mentioned above) or they could think your stuck-up. The more I think about this the worst the idea is, but still it might work for some people.

Ok, so there are three tips. I’ve tried all the techniques over the last few weeks, but I still could not keep it completely to myself. I will admit that I told a few of my trusted friends about the huge news that I can finally share with the world next week, so until then….mum’s the word.
